1. Without proper knowledge, giving alms for propitiation of a planet may not necessary be beneficial. So it should be done after due consultation.

2. Selection of a gem or stone for an individual is a very complicated task. It should not be done just on the advice of any/ every astrologer because it can be disastrous sometimes. There are some general rules in this regard :-

a) For Cancer (Karka) ascendant, since Saturn is lord of 7th and 8th house, they should never wear blue sapphire (neelam).

b) For Leo (Simha) ascendant, same applies as above because Saturn here is Lord of 6th and 7th and a bitter enemy of Sun (Lagna Lord).

c) Even for Gemini Ascendant, blue sapphire is avoidable except where Saturn is placed in 9th or 5th house or otherwise with some benefic planets in benefic houses.

d) For Libra ascendant, wearing of Neelam, is good & especially more beneficial if worn with diamond or emerald because of the lordships of Venus and Mercury.

e) For Gemini ascendant, wearing of Diamond especially with Emerald can be auspicious in major periods and sub-periods of Venus / Mercury.

f) Yellow Sapphire (Pukhraj) should not be worn with emerald, diamond, blue sapphire, gomed and cat’s eye.

There are some other doubtful cases; for example- whether Gemini ascendant should wear yellow sapphire or not because Jupiter here suffers from Kendra–adhipati dosha and is also a maraka. But some astrologers hold the view that if the native is not old or seriously ill or horoscope does not indicate a short span of life – native may wear this during major period of Jupiter and it will bring the native unprecedented success in professional career and government acclaim. But it is a difficult decision to make – to wear / not to wear?

These are only few examples to illustrate the point- that gem wearing should not be casually resorted to and one should not tender advice to anyone casually because it can be disastrous.

3. All remedies should be performed during daytime only i.e. between sunrise and sunset unless and until specifically indicated otherwise.

4. Rahu and Ketu are shadow planets and are malefics but they become very beneficial if they are with yogkarka planets.Only in such cases , their stones can be worn after careful consultation and not otherwise.
