The
Indian mythology mentions about the significance
of various religious / spiritual places which
one must visit for one’s upliftment.”Shri
Shukratal Dham” is one of those places
this sacred place is in the district of Mujjafar
Nagar in Uttar Pradesh.
Six thousand years
back, on the banks of sacred river Ganges (where
it is situated), below the shade of great grand
banyan tree, the great sage “Shukadeva”
had given sermons to great King Parikshit
(who was great grandson of famous Pandava warrior
Arjuna). This was done to enlighten King Parikshit
and free him from the fear of certain death
which was to happen to him on a fixed day by
snake bite which was also known to him. By listening
to the sermons of Great Sage Shukadevji, King
Parikshit became enlightened and realized that
he was not only this body-mind machine but was
something beyond it and was actually residing
in this body-mind axis.
Because of this historical discourse which happened
here and became the cause of enlightenment of
King Parikshit, the place became famous.
Another reason for importance of such places
is that – with such events
occurring at these places, these are charged
with the pious energy of the happenings and
this energy remains in the particles of that
place for millions of years to come and also
serves as a reminder of the glory of that events
and points to us the necessity for our spiritual
upliftment.
